カスプ、元素、相性の基本
カスプは2つの星座の境界線近くに生まれた誕生日を指し、両方の原型を感じる人が多いと言われます。伝統的な占星術ではあくまで各日付を1つの星座に割り当てますが、カスプという考え方は境界付近の重なりを語るうえで今も親しまれています。
各星座は火、地、風、水の4元素のいずれかに属します。火の星座（牡羊座、獅子座、射手座）は行動力や情熱に、地の星座（牡牛座、乙女座、山羊座）は堅実さに、風の星座（双子座、天秤座、水瓶座）は思考やコミュニケーションに、水の星座（蟹座、蠍座、魚座）は感情や直感に関連づけられます。伝統的に同じ元素の星座同士は相性が良く、6つ離れた対極の星座（例：牡羊座と天秤座）は互いを補い合う「補完的な対」とみなされます。
